Richard Scott

British born artist Richard Scott is a household name on the South African and International art market. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Richards work is colorful and figurative; his subjects include female semi-nudes in a variety of playful stances, trees, flowers and animals. The images are drawn in prominent black outlines on strong colour, gold, silver or stripey backgrounds. The works have a naïve pop feel, with cartoon character elements. Scott goes his own, honest way and does what he finds stimulating. The accessibility of his joyous works means he has an increasingly appreciative public.
