Hilary Dymond
Hilary Dymond was born in Blackwood, Wales, in 1953. Hilary wanted to become a painter, but the 1990s was filled with installations, video and concept art... everything but painting ! She painted against the trend and intense adversity. She has a word for herself “stubborn". She developed work in series, exploring her subject to the point of physical and mental exhaustion : painting until the subject wears out. Every series follows the same process : Hilary chooses the subject, she immerses herself totally in it then returns to her studio to create. In Hilary’s work nature is not fixed... wind blows through grass, a sky darkens, the fleeting reflectionofacloudpassesoverwater. HilaryDymond paints nature in transition, changing from one state to another... Hilary’s painting is silent painting.
