Patrick Chappert-Gaujal
Patrick Chappert-Gaujal was born in Bédarieux, in France’s Hérault region, in 1959. He was fascinated by art from an early age because his father was an amateur painter. When he was just 15 years old, he went to The Perpignan School of Art. A wanderlust, he spent time travelling through Africa, Asia, the United States, Europe, and China, and lived in Sweden for 5 years. Today, he lives on the Mediterranean coast in La Franqui, where he collects the materials and elements he finds by the sea which feed his creations (driftwood, plastic, rope, etc). Since 1975, he has shown his works regularly at prestigious fairs and international exhibitions. He recently created a piece for The Red Brick Art Museum in Beijing. A major museum exhibition of his work was the last exhibition at The Aspirateur, Narbonne, France in 2018.
