Livio Benedetti
Livio Benedetti was born in Verona, Italy, in 1946. Even though he only spent a few years of his life there, his native Veneto region was very important to him. In 1982, Livio met Hugo Pratt, a comic book author and illustrator, and notably the creator of Corto Maltese. Hugo Pratt was not just a friend for Livio, but also a second father. Livio started making a living from his profession in the 1990s, when his works became popular. Many sculptures demonstrate this : “La Sarrazine”, which can be admired on the banks of the Lac du Chevril (Tignes). “Le Dernier des Justes” in Aix-les-Bains; “La Dame du Vent”, located at Savoie Technolac; and a bust of Monsieur Pierre Dumas in 15 Fre?jus. Livio Benedetti died in 2013 in Challes-les-Eaux.
