Luc Benedetti

Luc Benedetti

Born in 1970, Luc Benedetti is the son of sculptor Livio Benedetti, who taught him the art of sculpture. Luc lives and works in Hamburg, Germany. In 1999, he created a small bronze Corto Maltese, Hugo Pratt’s comic book character. In 2003, he made a 3-metre enlargement of the statue for the Angoulème Comic Book museum. In 2006, he modelled a first series of rugby players. Two years later, he was commissioned to do a portrait of the emblematic post-war French rugby team captain, Jean Prat. Luc’s work is mainly inspired by representations of the human body in movement, typically in the sports world and with a desire to overcome the immobility of bronze through the use of choreographic sequences.
