Johanne Cinier

Johanne Cinier was born in Sète in 1977, a student at the School of Fine Arts in Sète until 1996, she undertook after her Baccalaureate studies as a stylist / model maker in Marseille and Paris. She mixes codes, influences and techniques, in a creative profusion, without imposing any rules other than those of the imagination. It uses all kinds of materials, the colors are bright and contrasting, it also incorporates LED light. The colors are also intensified and almost saturated. Sometimes the light appears as a line drawn on the canvas. Exaggeration and the extraordinary are his language on a kind of anthropology of female representation through a passionate gaze.

Johanne Cinier

"I like the idea that each work is unusual, it carry us in an imaginary and curious world, like a painting of "curiosity", where you can see a huge tulle petticoat coming out of the canvas or a real jewel hanging from a painted ear."
