Abigail Phang Gung Fook lives and works in London. Her work is intimate and emotional. She shares her observations, happenings and the effects and consequences of her decisions. Abigail’s paintings are often mysterious, and the meaning is often not immediately obvious to viewers. Dogs are an important feature in her work. She uses dogs as a metaphor for the people they represent. She is often filled with melancholy when she paints. Abigail also likes to paint portraits... she asks her subjects to take a “selfie” photo to participate in developing her work. She then uses those images as a basis for her paintings.
